Over 20 Meatless Meals Today!

As crazy as it sounds, we are approaching the mid-semester marker, with only two weeks until midterms.  With the semester flying by, and work inevitably piling up, Meatless Monday may be the last thing on your mind.  As a fellow busy student, I know exactly how that feels.  Why worry about the food choices you have to make when there are more important things on your mind, like getting a good grade on your test tomorrow morning?  Trust me, I've been there.  But I am also here to tell you that eating Meatless can be just as easy as eating meat.  Choosing the vegetarian option doesn't have to be time consuming and struggling.  Why?  Because Ithaca Dining Services has been continually improving our meatless options so that when you go into the dining hall, there are an abundance of options to choose from.  Today, we have over 20 meatless food options available at our three dining halls, and twice as many if you include our retail locations like La Vincita! Let me show you what I'm talking about.

If you're down on campus today and only have an hour in between classes, Campus Center may be where you're headed.  Here's what's Meatless on the lunch menu:
- Potato Leek Soup
- Salad Bar
- Vegetarian Chili
- Vegetarian Monster Sandwich
-  Asian Vegetable Stir Fry
- Vegan Burger

What about dinner?
- Potato Leek Soup
- Salad Bar
-  Asian Vegetable Stir Fry
- Vegan Burger with Spanish Style Beans
- Vegetable Risotto
- DIY Vegetarian Sandwich at the Deli

But, maybe you live in East or West Tower and want to walk down to Towers Dining Hall in your PJ's... We understand, and we've got you covered.
Meatless options for lunch at Towers include:
- Cream of Broccoli Soup
- Garden Burger at the Grill
- Pasta Bar
- Southwestern Salad at the Vegetarian Station
- Mediterranean Hummus Salad at Fresh Food Market

And let's not forget about dinner:
- Cream of Broccoli Soup
- Salad Bar
- Tricolor Tortellini with Sweet Potato at the Vegetarian Station
- Vegetable Tempura with Dipping Sauces at the Asian Station
- Garden Burger at the Grill

However, you may be down for a trek up to Terrace Dining Hall, where we guarantee you will find some seriously delicious meatless meals:
For Lunch:
- Onion Soup with Parmesan Croutons
- Wisconsin Cheddar Cheese Soup
- Salad Bar
- Baked Ziti
- Roasted Eggplant Panini at Food Lab
- Grilled Vegetable Pizza

And Dinner:
- Filipino Vegetable Soup
- Orecchiette, Garbanzo, and Broccoli Plate at Food Lab
- Grilled Veggie Pizza
- Salad Bar
- DIY Vegetarian Sandwich at Deli


The meatless options are all over, and it is getting easier and easier to have a meatless meal on campus. It's important to keep your eyes open for them, check the dining hall menus online ahead of time, and be creative with your options once you get to the dining hall! Mix a meatless entree (like the baked ziti) with a vegetarian soup.  Or pick up a veggie burger and put in on your salad.  Wherever you go, you can be sure to find something meatless to eat!
